Bought one of these years ago (when the AA had shops on the High Street). Have only had to use it once, but was worth the money just for that occasion! it's always in the car ready! Great Christmas present...

This little shovel comes in such a tiny little pouch you'd be forgiven for thinking a spoon would be as good for clearing that snow. But it folds out and screws tight into a really sturdy shovel. It's still quite small but it does the job and takes up no room in your boot. Definitely worth the money if you're concerned about getting stuck while out and about!

Brought this as a Christmas present for our son. He went to use it for the first time yesterday to dig out some snow. It was a complete failure as the shovel just collapsed on itself as soon as any pressure was applied.
